Our Darling Son Jon
Jon was killed in a road traffic accident on Sunday 10th September 2000.
The following day he was due to start his 2nd year at Leeds Met University.
Jon was a happy, charming, and bright child who made friends easily.
Jons main passions in life were playing his baritone for various brass bands inc NYBBGB, Carlton
Main, Hepworth, Hade Edge, and Drighlington bands.Playing at many prestigious venues including The
Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall and a tour of America.Jon was proud to have been in the winning
band at all sections of the Yorkshire are Championships, over the years, the last one to be 1st
section final with Drighlington at the end of September 2000, one he could not make !
He enjoyed football as a player with New Mill 94 FC, a team he was proud to play in with his Dad for
a couple of seasons.And loved cooking, usually using all the contents of the fridge and freezer for
one meal !
He was a proud Yorkshireman and liked a pint at the pub with his mates. He regularly organised trips
to clubs and venues, one of the favorite being Cream.
Another of Jons passions was his time caravaning and especially sports and pulling in the tug-of-war
at Northern Centres.
Jon loved live music of all types but enjoyed camping at music festivals best.
Jon is loved and deeply missed by his devoted Mum, Dad, and Sister , 2 neices who were not born to
be able to meet him and all his friends who were fortunate to have known Jon. The joy of Jons music
will live on forever.

Let them go, but not completely.
Hold on to them, but not too tightly.
Love them as you know you will,

Rejoice that they are well, the only difference

How do we convey
